An increasing number of people are risking their lives to make it to the UK. The deaths of 27 people on a makeshift boat prompted politicians on both sides of the Channel to prepare a workable response to the crisis. But, recent Anglo-French relations have been at their most tenuous in several decades. So, can anything truly be done to prevent such tragedies?
